Branch Tech Trek Alumnae Group – Volunteers Needed
One of our goals this year is to establish a Branch Tech Trek Alumnae Group.
We began this effort last year but paused during nomination season. We now have a process in place and contact information for many former Tech Trekkers. We are looking for someone to take the lead in reaching out to these young women via email to see if they’re interested in connecting.
This is a meaningful and easy way to get involved and support the long-term impact of Tech Trek. If you’d like to help with this project, please contact Cindy Alpert, Tech Trek Coordinator and AAUW President
STEM Volunteer Opportunity for Quest
AAUW Danville-Alamo-Walnut Creek is seeking volunteers to help with the Quest Science Center exhibit on Tuesday, November 11 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Danville Veterans Day Pop-up Museum event.
Quest Science Center will again be participating in the Veterans Day Pop-Up Museum at the Veterans Memorial Building of the San Ramon Valley in downtown Danville on Tuesday, November 11. The popular Pop-up Museum is a free, family-friendly, annual event honoring veterans hosted by local Veterans groups and the Town of Danville. This will be Quest’s third year at the event, and their hands-on STEM exhibit is a huge hit with children.
Lots of volunteers are needed. No STEM experience is necessary. Quest supervisors will be on hand for the event. Snacks and water will be provided. Since you will be standing throughout your shift, dress comfortably and casually. You are welcome to wear an AAUW shirt. There are restrooms in the building and plenty of free parking in downtown Danville municipal parking lots.
Three volunteer shifts are available:
- All day
- Morning 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
- Afternoon 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
If you are interested in volunteering, email Quest’s Director of Education Dan Golub.
When you email Dan let him know that you are from AAUW San Ramon. Get your partner or a friend to sign up with you. It’s great fun. AAUW San Ramon volunteers are greatly appreciated and help Quest bring its family-friendly science exploration to our local community.
